Design
InterCreative
is expert in the design of both first and
second-generation websites. By "first-generation,"
we mean the standard HTML websites that comprise
the majority of sites on the web. While HTML
sites are sufficient for many businesses,
the web is going increasingly in the direction
of technologies that offer greater functionality.
What
we call "second-generation" websites
are sites that utilize server-side technology.
This opens the door for things like user registration
and contribution of content, as well as greatly
expanding possibilities for e-commerce. These
"CMS" sites (or "Content Management
Systems") are becoming increasingly popular.
"FaceBook" and MySpace" are two
examples of robust CMS sites.
Currently,
our preference is to work using LAMP technology
(Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) - and we have
had excellent results by doing so. Our CMS sites
offer scalability, user administration and vast
capability, keeping InterCreative always on
the "cutting edge."
